Marino

Marino Santi, born in 1967, is a master glassmaker of extraordinary talent, whose journey in the world of glass, officially begun in 1985, has deep roots in his family. His training, as for every talented master glassmaker, is a journey full of significant experiences. In every furnace where he worked, Marino had the opportunity to work alongside the most important masters of the time, learning a wide range of techniques and secrets that helped shape his artistic sensibility.

He began under the guidance of his uncle Ermenegildo Scarpa , renowned for his skill in filigree work. He then joined Berto Mattiello , known as Geremia , who specialized in the creation of “light as air” glasses .

His training path subsequently led him to work alongside illustrious masters such as Gino Cenedese and Cenedese & Albarelli . He further enriched his experience at Toso Vetri d’arte and then moved to the well-known Pauly glassworks , alongside the great Ennio Compagno, known as Orfeo . Here, towards the end of the 90s, he obtained his first recognition and was entrusted with his first position as a master.

In 2004, Marino took on the role of maestro at the Eugenio Ferro glassworks , where he had the freedom to express his creativity and mastery in creating extremely light and refined blown glass. Since 2022, Marino Santi has finally joined the RCR team . and from the very beginning he has demonstrated his dedication to this art by creating true masterpieces, which testify not only to his technical ability, but also to a deep connection with tradition and innovation. His constant commitment and desire to improve push him to improve every day because, as he always remembers: “with glass you never stop learning” .

Marino strongly believes in the continuity and evolution of this precious art form and that is why he decided to take a young student under his wing. Veronica Cavalier is not only the granddaughter of the master glassmaker Orfeo , a fundamental teacher for Marino’s path, but she is also one of the very few women working glass on the island of Murano, thus paving the way for a new chapter of inclusivity in a traditionally male-dominated sector

fabio

Fabio Rossetto was born in Murano in 1958, into a family of ancient Murano origins. His love for glass was passed down to him by his father Giovanni and was instilled in him from an early age. At just 8 years old, he spent his free time in the furnace, where he enjoyed carefully preparing the murrine that his father would then use to make the eyes of the clown-shaped sculptures. A small task, but one that had great value for him and that immediately highlighted his meticulous attention to detail and his deep bond with this art form.

His training continued and at 16 he entered the furnace of his uncle Ermanno Nason , an internationally renowned artist specialized in the creation of solid glass sculptures. In 1979 , at just 21 years old, Fabio finally realized his dream of opening his own furnace with his father: the RCR glassworks, a place where he could give free rein to his creativity and express his emotions celebrating centuries of Venetian culture.
Today, 45 years later, in that same place, he continues to keep his passion alive and, together with Marino, he is committed to passing on his knowledge to future generations.

Fabio is an artist who is extremely sensitive to the creative process and fascinated by the infinite combinations of colors that give life to works that capture attention and communicate emotions to those who observe them.
His greatest satisfaction lies in creating custom pieces: “the best part of our job is seeing customers come back with a smile. Bringing art and a piece of Murano tradition into their homes, knowing that it has a positive impact on their lives, is what really matters”.

Veronica

Veronica Cavalier , born in 2001, is a promising young talent in the world of glass. Her presence not only adds vitality to our work environment, but also represents our desire to ensure the continuity of an ancient art.

Born in Murano, Veronica has breathed the air full of history and artistic tradition that characterizes our island since childhood. But her interest in glass was born thanks to her family and, in particular, to her grandfather Ennio Compagno , known as “ Orfeo ”. Veronica’s grandfather is a respected figure in the blown glass scene, famous for his elegant hand and ability to create traditional goblets and museum-quality reproductions that have helped consolidate the artistic reputation of Murano.

Growing up in this context rich in history and culture, Veronica developed a deep passion for glass and decided to undertake a course of study that would allow her to further explore and cultivate this passion.

In 2020, after graduating from the M. Guggenheim art high school with a specialization in “ Glass Design ”, Veronica decided to further deepen her skills by taking a glass engraving course. This experience enriched her artistic background and provided her with new tools to express her creativity.

In 2021, Veronica collaborated with Vetraie Ribelli , an experience that further enriched her training path, allowing her to approach the world of glass from an innovative point of view. In November of the same year, Veronica finally joined the RCR team , immediately becoming a precious resource for our company.

Veronica’s journey is just beginning, but her resourcefulness and perseverance are key elements that will guide her far in her artistic career. Veronica aims to learn the secrets of glass blowing to find her unique path in the world of glass, turning her projects into reality and contributing to the artistic heritage of Murano with her creative and innovative vision.
